August Eastleigh Telephoto Jaunt. |
| A short 30 minute trip to Eastleigh for the Quidys turned into a mornings work at the station as Tug 55 unexpectedly rolled through to Fareham with the stone, so the return was waited upon. In the meantime I took the opportunity to use my much under-used 100-300mm lens to try some of those 'different' shots available.

May Piggy Training. |
| Shots from the St. Cross area today of the 442 driver training runs for Freightliner Heavy Haul. 4 Pigs were out running as two trains of 10-WES - unfortunatley no sunny shots of them! But plenty of sun for all the other normalities.

May A Day Out with Clan Line. |
| A disappointing day which was initially to chase 50049 on a tour to Havant. This failed in London and the tour was cancelled. So I chased Clan Line instead....
|

May The last ever scream from the lovely Doreen. |
The opportunity to see a Wessex working in May 2007, 4 months after coming off lease was too good too miss. A sad sight at Southampton today as 442 416 "Doreen" made her way for storage from Bournemouth to Eastleigh, being the last ever Pig to move under SWT. Many other workings also caught today, including 73109 & 1497, 66591 & 66593.

February Eastleigh. |
| 60043 had derailed in Eastleigh Yard and was reported stabled in the station yard but when I arrived it was no-where to be seen. Not all was lost however as 66710 turned up on the Gypsum.
|
 |
19th
February Didcot & Basingstoke Tractors. |
| An afternoon trip to Didcot where 37425 & 37411 were still stabled despite being booked to move to store this morning. 37425 was started up nicely but didn't haul anything due to problems with 37411. Then back down to Basingstoke to await the arrival of 37422 on 7V27, which passed through 4 hours late.
|
 |

February London Pigs - It really is the end. |
| A trip to London obviously involved a small wait at Waterloo to see 2410 & 2412 arrive, with 2412 then forming the staff tour to Windsor & Shepperton.
|
 |
31st
January Worting Junction. |
| An afternoon at Worting Junction to see 73109 & 73235, the last 3 442s in service before withdrawal, plus the usual freight. 158744 & 158742 were also seen on 5Z58 Doncaster - Salisbury.
|
 |
24th
January Eastleigh. |
| More pigs being stored today, but this time it was 2414 in the highly unusual white & grey livery, along with 2420. A completely dull day bar about 15 minutes when a liner & 6V41 departed south in glorious sun. Lots of action throughout the day as usual.
|
 |
22nd
January Eastleigh. |
| It was pig drag time again this
week, and most probably the last one, with 47811 providing the
traction. 66726 and 73136 were stabled in the station yard, and 2401
& 2407 were captured arriving for store in the works.

|
 |

January London
Tractors, Dead Duffs & a Hybrid Pig. |
| A day trip
to London which involved a mornings photography at Clapham, primarily
for Tangmere, but this was diverted. Instead 37410 & 37406
appeared on a Pathfinders tour. 47712 & 47145 are still at Clapham,
and Hybrid Wessex 2413/18 made a welcome appearence.
|
 |
10th
January St.
Cross Camera Trials. |
| A
brief late afternoon trip to St. Cross to trial the new camera
(EOS20d). The light was fading fast and I hadn't read the manual (!)
so it was full auto mode for now. A pair of 455s on 5B40 appeared in
minutes of my arrival, and 57004 worked a late running 4O51.
