The day started with an early wake up call to check the gen on the days workings. The 'planned' 5Z69, 09:00 Gloucester - Meldon was caped, however gen came in of a rescheduled 5Z69, 10:04 Gloucester - Yeovil Jnc, formed of ex-Freightliner Class 57 no. 57005 and two Mk2 coaches. The train left Gloucester early, and by the time I left Exeter it had almost reached Bristol Parkway. What could have been a complete missed shot turned into a very luckily timed formation of events, with my HST arriving all of 5 minutes before 5Z69 poked around the corner at Westbury. 57005 with 5Z69 potters into Westbury in perfect conditions.
